Michael Betancourt

Michael Betancourt is a critical theorist, art historian, curator, and movie maker. His essays have been translated into Chinese, French, Italian, Greek, Persian, Portuguese, and Spanish; he has been published in Leonardo, Semiotica, and CTheory; he discovered the oldest surviving hand-painted abstract films done in 1916 by inventor and artist Mary Hallock-Greenewalt. Betancourt is a professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA.
